1. Glutton-Free: Cultivating a Theology of Enough

Glutton-Free: Cultivating a Theology of Enough

By spending less on ourselves, we can transform

the lives of neighbors who will die unless we care.”

Ronald J. Sider

Have you ever stopped to ask, “Will God be glorified by what I eat?”

Several years ago I started a book on gluttony. My husband asked why I was writing it. I write about gluttony not only because I think God is calling me to, but also because I don’t think there is already something out there that covers the two topics of helping the poor and health in an integrated way. Unfortunately, I never did anything with my gluttony book draft.

So this year during Lent I'm going to share about 25 short reflections about the intersection of gluttony, healthy eating, helping the poor, fasting, and self-control.

On this glutton-free journey I share a lot of quotes that challenged me. For me this series is an outpouring of my own conviction and repentance from reading David Platt’s Radical and wanting to respond in action. I pray that it blesses and challenges you as much as it did me!
