Recently Jubilee and I were singing a traditional French lullaby "Fais Dodo" (dodo is short for "dormir," to sleep).
When we got to the part, "Mama est en haut, elle fait du gateau; Papa est en bas, il fait du chocolat," ("Mom is up (stairs) making cake, Dad is down (stairs) making chocolate") she said, "Mom is up, Dad is down!"
Now we've also been singing another song called "En Haut, En Bas" ("Up & Down", merci Fritzi!) and using them in play time for months now, so it was interesting to see it suddenly click for her that she knew what those words meant. So we're celebrating the small victories here!
