Crossing the Pond

In 1 week we return to West Africa for 2.5 years. At 3 years old, this will be Jubilee's 3rd time there and little Eden's first, at 5 months. We're choosing to make our home there, which makes our kids TCKs or Third Culture Kids. It's a Third Culture because they'll never be completely at home in their parent's/passport culture or their host country culture, but rather a blend of the two which is uniquely their own. 

Two defining features of TCKs:

1) Their lifestyle is both highly mobile and influenced by a variety of cultures 

2) TCKs relate best to other TCKs - even though their host or passport countries may be different they share the unique challenges and benefits of a transient life
